Privacy Policy

This policy explains the information processed when you use OnlyWhois. The service retrieves public domain registration information through RDAP and, when needed, WHOIS.

Information processed

• The domain name you submit for a lookup.
• Standard request information needed to deliver and protect the service, such as an IP address, user agent, request time and requested path.
• The email address and message content you choose to send when contacting OnlyWhois.

How a lookup works

OnlyWhois first attempts to obtain registration data from the appropriate RDAP service. If RDAP is unavailable or does not provide a usable response, the application may query the relevant WHOIS server. Your lookup value is therefore transmitted to external registry or registrar services that provide the data. Those providers operate independently and may apply their own terms and privacy practices.

Registration data is returned by those external providers. It may be incomplete, delayed, redacted or contain information made public by the data provider. OnlyWhois cannot correct a source record; correction requests should be directed to the responsible registrar or registry.

Operational and security logs

Technical request information may appear in application, hosting or security logs so the service can be delivered, diagnosed and protected from abuse. The exact log retention period depends on the active hosting and security configuration. You may contact us for current details.

Cookies and browser storage

The lookup form uses a strictly necessary antiforgery cookie to protect submissions from cross-site request abuse. OnlyWhois does not set advertising, analytics or preference cookies and does not store lookup history in browser storage by default. The hosting or security layer may use other strictly necessary technical cookies if that infrastructure is configured to do so; this policy should be updated before optional analytics or advertising technology is introduced.

Your choices

Do not submit a domain name if you do not want it sent to the relevant registration-data provider. You can contact us about a privacy question or request.
